Several common anti-corrosion processes for spiral steel pipe anti-corrosion

Anti-corrosion spiral steel pipes play an important and different role in people’s daily lives. Anti-corrosion spiral steel pipes generally refer to the use of special technology to treat ordinary spiral steel pipes that have been treated with anti-corrosion, so that the spiral steel pipes have certain anti-corrosion capabilities. Usually, it is used for waterproofing, rust prevention, acid and alkali resistance, and oxidation resistance.

Spiral steel pipes are often used for fluid transportation and gas transportation, and pipelines often need to be buried, launched, or overhead. The corrosion-prone nature of steel pipes and the construction and application environment of pipelines determine the construction of spiral steel pipes. If the construction is not in place, it will not only affect the service life of the pipeline, but may even cause environmental pollution, fire, explosion, and other catastrophic accidents.

At present, almost all spiral steel pipe application projects will carry out anti-corrosion technology treatment on the pipeline to ensure the service life of the spiral steel pipe and the safety and environmental protection of the pipeline project. The anti-corrosion performance of the spiral steel pipe will also affect the economy and maintenance cost of the pipeline project.

The anti-corrosion process of spiral steel pipes has formed a very mature anti-corrosion system according to the different uses and anti-corrosion processes.

IPN8710 anti-corrosion and epoxy coal tar anti-corrosion are mainly used for tap water supply and water pipelines. This anti-corrosion generally adopts external epoxy coal tar anti-corrosion and internal IPN8710 anti-corrosion process, with simple process flow and low cost.

3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe and TPEP anti-corrosion steel pipe are commonly used for gas transmission and tap water transmission. These two anti-corrosion methods have high performance and process automation, but the cost is generally higher than other anti-corrosion processes.

Plastic-coated steel pipe is the most widely used anti-corrosion process in the current application field. The application fields include water supply and drainage, fire sprinkler, and mining. The pipeline anti-corrosion process is mature, and the anti-corrosion performance and mechanical properties are very strong. And the later maintenance cost is low and the service life is long, which is gradually recognized and promoted by more and more engineering design units.

A spiral steel pipe is a semi-solid thermal spray plastic, usually filled with epoxy resin or polyurethane containing flame retardant, and then heat treated after coating to obtain a new pipe with good antioxidant and wear resistance. Due to its convenient construction, simple construction method, easy to master and use, it is currently a widely used pipe in my country. When choosing the anti-corrosion method for spiral steel pipes, it is necessary to consider multiple factors such as application field, construction environment, cost budget, etc. The construction site can use pressure vessels to forge the steel pipes as needed, but attention should be paid to the construction environment, especially the drying of the construction site.
