How many sides do you need to weld when welding a square steel pipe

First, what is a welded square steel pipe?
Welded square steel pipes are also called welded steel pipes. They are square steel pipes made by welding steel plates or strips after curling. Large-diameter or thicker welded square steel pipes are generally made directly from steel billets, while small welded steel pipes and thin-walled welded steel pipes only need to be welded directly through steel strips.

Second, how many sides do you need to weld when welding a square steel pipe?
Thin-walled welded square steel pipes are square steel pipes formed by welding steel strips. When welding, how many sides do you need to weld? When welding a square steel pipe, you usually need to weld at least two sides, because if you only weld one side, it is easy to cause the welded square steel pipe to break due to insufficient strength; if you need higher strength, you can weld three or even four sides.

Third, can the welded square steel pipe be welded on all four sides?
Yes. Welded square steel pipes can be welded on all four sides, which makes them stronger. Especially for some small-sized welded square steel pipes, such as 50*50mm welded square steel pipes, they need to be fully welded on all four sides, otherwise, they are prone to insufficient strength and breakage.

Fourth, matters needing attention in welding square steel pipes.
1. Stress relief must be performed during the welding process. Partial welding and welding can be performed so that stress can be released continuously; or in the welding of split parts, the stress generated by welding can be eliminated by hammering the weld.
2. It is best to weld square steel pipes and welding rods at room temperature. When the on-site conditions cannot reach room temperature, the square steel pipes and welding rods should be heated to reduce brittle fracture caused by thermal expansion and contraction. If the temperature is low or the temperature difference between day and night is large, heating is required.
3. When welding, the welding stress can be immediately eliminated by aligning several small round holes on the square steel pipe. It is not recommended to pull the weld during welding, that is, do not weld the butt joint immediately.
